Name: Katie Nell Cooper Pinkard Date: April 17th, 1909 - June 12th, 2012 Obituary: Mrs. Katie Nell Cooper Pinkard, age 103, of 409 W. Goodrich Ave. died Tuesday, June 11, 2012 in Riverside Nursing Center. Mrs. Pinkard was a native of Taylor County Ga. She had lived most of her adult life in Thomaston. Her home for the past few years has been West Village Retirement Community. She taught school for 14 years in Taylor, Lamar and Upson Counties. However, she retired from Wells Dairies where she was employed as office clerk for 23 years. Mrs. Pinkard was an active member of first United Methodist Church for 67 years, and many of its related activities including United Methodist Women, Tumlin Sunday School Class, Golden Age Club and Wednesday night services. She was also a member of the Thomaston-Upson Retired Educators, Thomaston-Upson Arts Council, American Legion Auxiliary, Upson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and formerly, The Thomaston Business & Professional Women's Club. Mrs. Pinkard was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Pinkard; Siblings; Alvin Cooper, Fred Cooper, Eunie Downs, Mamie Kilcrease, Pauline Parks, Edith Powell; niece Lynda Kilcrease, and nephew Chirs Powell. She was survived by a sister in law, Dorothy Cooper of Buena Vista, Nieces; Donna Dixon of Columbus, Ga., Susan Peterson of Columbus, Ga., Pam Tice of Columbus, Ga., Cheryl Morrison of Clinton, Tenn., Ceclia Prator of Dunwoody, Ga., Marsha Cooper, Nephews; Fred Cooper, Jr. of Buena Vista, Ga., Charles Holloway of Geneva, Ga., Gary Powell of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Malcolm Kilcrease, great nieces; Kristen Bagewll of Cumming, Ga., Nancy Hollinghurst of Brooklyn, N. Y., Carrie Clark of Oak Ridge Tenn., Lindsey & Andrea Powell of Oak Ridge Tenn., great great nieces; Leah Bagwell of Cumming Ga., Casyn Clark of Oak Ridge, Tenn., great great nephews; Preston Bagwell of Cumming, Ga., Kyndall Clark and Zak Clark of Oak Ridge, Tenn.
