Prior to his retirement he was employed at the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills. He was a member of Hendricks Baptist Church. Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife of 61years, Jean E. Matthews; his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kathy Matthews; and his granddaughter, Katie Matthews, all of Thomaston.
