- Traditional Church or
Chapel Service
A funeral service in a church or our chapel followed by an
interment service in a cemetery. A visitation time is often scheduled the
night before the service to allow family and friends to talk, console,
reminisce, and to view the deceased if desired. The traditional service
package normally includes all services by the funeral home staff necessary
to carry out such a service including transportation, facilities, embalming,
equipment in the home, church, and/or cemetery, arrangement conferences, and
coordination of all events and persons involved.
- Graveside Service
A funeral service conducted at the site of burial in the cemetery with attendees protected from the elements by tents. With a graveside
service there is no church or chapel service, however, most families do have
a visitation time the night before as in a traditional service. The tents,
chairs, casket, flowers and other equipment are set up on site prior to the
arrival of friends and family. Pallbearers are not required. Funeral home
staff manages parking coordination and family arrival. Music can be provided
by tape, portable instruments, or acappella singing.
- Direct Cremation
Refers to a simple cremation of a deceased body with no ceremony and only
those services necessary to arrange and carry out the cremation. See
Cremation Options.
Cremation Options
Refers to a visitation and funeral service before the actual cremation or a
memorial service after cremation. Since cremation, like burial, is a form of
final disposition, a complete funeral service with embalming, casket, and
viewing can be conducted prior to that disposition. Cremation caskets are
combustible and are usually less expensive than caskets designed for burial.
A memorial service is considered any service without the body present.
